About Tracy
My experience with needlework and fiber arts started at an early age. My mother taught me to use her sewing machine when
I was 5 years old and I enjoyed making clothes for my dolls and for myself. My mother and grandmother did many forms of needlework
and taught me to embroider and crochet. Aunt Linda and a family friend taught me to knit when I was 12. I always liked to
challenge myself and took on difficult projects as soon as I had learned each new technique.
I began quilting and doing basketry after my two sons were born. I've been a member of Bay Area Basket Makers for many
years and have enjoyed learning new techniques from this talented group of weavers. It was through basketry that I found
beadwork.
In addition to the needle and fiber arts, I've dabbled in making pottery, learning to make lampwork beads, tatting, and
just about anything else I can get my hands on.
A little about my family: I'm married to a wonderful man named Don and we have two teenaged sons who have been home schooled
their whole lives. We enjoy camping and hiking and have the good fortune of living in the San Francisco area, with nearby
access to beaches, deserts, mountains, small towns, and big cities. I can't imagine living anywhere else!
I hope you'll enjoy seeing my artwork and learning more about me as you look through my website.
Thanks so much for visiting!
